‘Farmers need free inputs for food prices to reduce’

Farmers should be given free farm inputs during the rainy season as one of the ways to arrest rising food prices, an economist has advised. Chris Mukiza, a macro-economist statistician at the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) gave the advice following the announcement yesterday that food prices in Uganda rose by 15 per cent in March.
