Minister’s exit causes void as illegal fishing increases

Entebbe - The political vacuum created by the exit of the Fisheries Minister Fred Mukisa could have a negative impact on illegal fishing if not addressed expeditiously.

According to Dr Wilson Mwanja, the Commissioner of Fisheries, the increasing cases of illegal fishing at Kigungu and Bugonga landing sites can be reversed through policy initiatives involving the line minister. Dr Mwanja’s comments come in the wake of increased immature fishing at the two landing sites near the Fisheries
