Libya crisis shows just how useless the AU is

A London conference to map out a post Muammar Gaddafi future in North Africa was held this week – curiously without the African Union. Did the AU snub the conference or was it totally ignored? From the outset, it appeared as if the sleepy African giant had finally woken up to smell the coffee and take a firm united stand on Libya to indict Western interference in the continental problem.
