Jinja oil reservoirs halted

The construction of national oil storage reserves in Jinja has suffered another setback with the government cancelling the contract it entered with Tamoil, a Libyan oil company. This means Ugandans will have to wait a little longer for fuel storage facilities, putting the country at risk should a supply gap occur.

Having no reservoirs in the country has always led to a hike in pump prices. Recent shortages in supply saw pump prices go up by Shs400. Energy and mineral development minister
