Ugandans of goodwill have been walking with a swagger since Saturday night when The Cranes ended a decade-long jinx by beating Guinea Bissau 1-0 away from home in an African Nations Cup qualifier.
The victory in Bissau has brightened Uganda’s chances of qualifying for their first CAN finals since 1978 when the team lost 0-2 to Ghana in the final. The psychological lift and inspiration drawn from winning an away tie at this level is strong enough to propel the team to the Promised Land.
