New city buses to cut fares by half

The gradual phasing out of commuter taxis from Kampala will start on June 1 with the deployment of about 500 buses to ease congestion in the city.

And the biggest beneficiaries are city commuters who will witness a 50 per cent fall in transport fares.
For example, if you have been paying Shs1,500 from Bweyogerere to Kampala by taxi, you will be charged Shs750 by bus.
