They borrowed money. Some spent their savings to invest in coffee seedlings, but a decade later government has refused to pay them.
These are coffee nursery farmers scattered in different parts of the country who had hoped to cashin on the multi-billion coffee replanting programme. On a sad note they have not been paid. They supplied seedlings worth Shs1 billion to government through the Uganda Coffee Development Authority in 2001 but up to now they have not been paid.
